Description
30 Day Retrosaur Challenge part 12 - Transitional Tyrant
Chelomimus (meaning ‘turtle mimic’, or alternatively ‘mock turtle’) was an avid burrower that lived during the mid/late Cretaceous. Though a member of the Tyrant breed, it had a somewhat omnivorous diet favoring meat.
It’s burrows tended to become little ecosystems in and of themselves, with mammals, digging arthropods, and sometimes smaller retrosaurs creating or moving into little side tunnels and act as the clean-up crews for Chelomimus’ leftover meals. In return, they’re off the menu. Also, it was a pretty good swimmer and sometimes preyed upon aquatic duckbills.
(Based upon E. A. Maleyev’s early Therizinosaurus reconstruction, with a hint of Baragon)

It really does look like a member of the Baragon species maybe from before the species developed horns and those big floppy ears
